What’s up?

Howdy! I haven’t posted on my blog in a long time… so I thought I’d just provide an update on goings-on.

First of all, the blog has moved! I set up a domain and got some great web hosting from DreamHost. Then I set up a blog for both Trish and I, with WordPress. It is highly customizable and very un-featureless, so I like it a lot.

The last time I posted was just before Christmas… so, I’ll mention that Christmas went well. It was quite busy, but it was good to see everyone… and eat a lot. New Years was pretty good too, except I ended up getting a cold very suddenly at 7pm on December 31st, which lasted most of the week.

Work has been extremely busy lately. We’re still trying to release a product that was supposed to release in October. It’s supposed to be out next week, though, and I think we’ll probably make it this time. I’ll be glad when I can sorta relax again.

Of course Trish and I are still as together as ever. I seriously could not have asked for a better person to spend my life with. I cherish our togetherness. I give her all I’ve got to give, because she certainly deserves it.

Next week is going to be very busy. Wednesday is Valentine’s Day, Friday is my 24th birthday, and Saturday is our fourth monthiversary. Trish got me something for my birthday, but I have no idea what it is. She says I will love it. I got something for her for Valentine’s Day, too… we’ll just have to wait and see what that is…

Alright, that’s enough for now. I’ll post more later or some other day or some other month, or something.

Apartments and things

Well, it's been like a month and a half since I've posted here. There are a lot of reasons for this.

The first reason I haven't posted much is because I don't really know of that many people who actually read this. But I figured that if I were to actually tell people about it, maybe more people would read it. 😉 I realized it'd be easier to write everything here once and have all my friends read it than it would be to have to tell everyone the same thing individually.

On top of that, I haven't really been allocating time for things like LiveJournal, MySpace, and Facebook these days. Most of my time that isn't spent at work tends to be spent with Trish.

I haven't mentioned Trish on here before… but that's mostly because I've been spending so much time with her than I haven't really had time to post here 😉 Trish and I have been officially going out since October 17th. In some ways it seems like that wasn't very long ago, but in other ways it seems like forever. This is probably because Trish and I have spent almost every single day together since then. We've spent a lot of time together. Trish is an amazing person (although she denies it), and I really look forward to spending a lot more time with her in the future.

On December 2nd, I moved in to my very own apartment. I'd been thinking about getting an apartment or something for a long time, and finally got the courage (with Trish's support) to do it. The apartment I got is pretty big, and pretty nice. It's got two good sized bedrooms, one of which I use as my “office”, plus the normal things (kitchen, bathroom, washer and dryer, large living+dining room…).

Of course, moving out of one's parent's house means that one needs to acquire a lot of things. You need places to sit and things to eat with… and things to eat! I'd been saving up money for these sorts of things… but I was quite surprised at how much I ended up spending. I didn't spend more than I had, or really much more than I needed to, but I spent a lot. I've got a nice-looking and comfortable apartment because of it, though. I'm happy about it. I just wish Samuel's Furniture would get my dining table in and deliver it soon! I have to sit on the floor to eat still.

Well, we have to… not I. Trish has been staying here quite a bit, and will be here through all of her Winter break, before she has to go back to the dorm. We'll be going several places for Christmas: Trish's dad's on Saturday, Trish's mom's on Sunday, and on Monday (Christmas) we'll spend time at my apartment, my parents' house, and my Grandma's condo. It's going to be a very busy–but very good–weekend. I can't wait!

Okay, that's enough for one post. I'll post more some other day.

Seth's Wedding

So I went to Seth's wedding yesterday. As far as I can remember, that's the first wedding I've been to since I was like five or six years old. I wasn't really sure what to expect.

First of all, I ended up being a little late because traffic was worse than I expected. I forgot it's a Canadian holiday weekend (Thanksgiving), so the roads were packed full. Windows Live Local said it would take 21 minutes to get there… it was more like 30-35 minutes. But I did finally get there.

I sort of randomly guessed where in the park the wedding was taking place, and happened to guess correctly. Seth was standing in the doorway when I walked up, getting ready to start. I quickly grabbed a seat.

The ceremony was kinda fun. The preacher guy (whatever you call him) was really funny. While he was telling stories, Jennifer and Seth kept looking at eachother and smiling. It was so cool.

Afterword Jennifer and Seth disappeared for a while to get photos taken. An old friend from school, Rob Hall, was there, so I chatted with him the whole time. I'd been afraid there wouldn't be anyone I knew there, so it was good to see him. After a while the food was ready and everyone was eating and stuff. At some point Jennifer and Seth came and sat by me and Rob and we all talked for a bit. Seth was eating like a pig! It was crazy.

At one point Rob and I snuck out and helped “decorate” Seth's car with streamers and balloons and things. That was fun. Eventually, after the toast (Seth's brother, who did the toast said maybe next time this year he'll be an uncle… lol!), Jennifer and Seth got a ton of bird seed thrown at them and they took off.

I had a chance to meet Seth's mom and talk to her a bit. Apparently Seth has been telling her a lot about me. That shouldn't surprise me, I suppose, as I tell my parents about Seth too. His mom seemed really nice. I didn't get a chance to talk to his dad, though, unfortunately.

So yeah, anyway, that was fun. When I got home my sister insisted on taking a picture of me dressed nice… I'm sure that will get distributed widely in a short period of time. Meh.

Okay, time to go back to being bored now. I can't wait 'til Wednesday…
